About The Artwork

'Le Miroir' (The Mirror) is an unusual work as it is intended to be hung two ways, and is balanced so that it evokes a calm watery or sky scape in both directions. It is the only work I have ever created that works in this way. It was inspired partly by the wide skies where I grew up in the Western United States, but also by the skies of the Piemonte mountains in northern Italy where I fundamentally changed my practice. In all my works in this series a 'horizon line' beckons the viewer to something in the distance - but hopeful. This is on a beautifully weighted and prepared canvas, on robust stretcher bars all made in England. This painting comes with a whitewashed thin wood lathe border attached on all sides --this is intended to protect the work and is not a permanent frame, but rather something which can be easily removed if a different frame is desired.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I am a painter and mixed-media artist. I moved to London in 2017 after 10 years developing my practice, showing my work and living in Italy. My studio is now located in the London N22 Arts District. I make abstract symbolist paintings and mixed media works. Organic shapes, luminous colour and structured compositions are hallmarks of my 'magical realism' works, while intense brushwork and tempestuous land-sea scapes reflect a different aspect of my practice. I have been deeply influenced by growing up in the Western United States and by my time and experience in Italy, as well as by classic modernists’ works and colour theory. Occasionally I take on commissions for large works. I am currently represented by AfterNyne Contemporary and the bowie gallery in the UK and Kobe Biome in Japan.
