About The Artwork
Laukika Apsara are worldly female spirits who are youthful, elegant, and superb in the art of dancing. Apsaras are sometimes compared to the muses of ancient Greece or seen as sent to distract a sage or spiritual master from his ascetic practices. The figure is finely rendered in glossy acrylic, the background is matte with expressionistic chrysanthemums in deep rich glossy oil impasto. Laukika Apsara can be hung horizontal or vertical. The piece is presented on deep gallery wrapped stretchers. It is wired to be hung unframed either vertical or horizontal. See detail image for vertical presentation. The Apsaras can also be offered in handcrafted standing walnut frames inspired by antique standing mirrors. The framed piece measures from the top of canvas to the floor 79". The base measures 35" across and 24" deep on the floor. The frame is an optional add on at an additional cost of $1000 plus shipping.
