Painting: Oil on Canvas. This oil painting is realized with the technique of the "velatura" , one of the oldest technic in oil painting. The layers of colors are painted one after the other in order to obtain a unique combination of shimmering tones. Considered one of the oldest techniques, the "velatura" is also one of the most durable in time. Not only the mixed colors are chosen basing on the tone they will create, they are also considered in their chemical character.I wanted to go back to my origins and apply the oil painting technique of the older Venetian artists. The picture has been inspired by a niche parfum by a japanese parfume maker, Yosh. The painting tries to describe the atmosphere created by the Yoh´s parfume Stargazer 7. The dress is inspired by haute couture line of Valentino. It has been re-elaborated in order to make it more organic...as if the dress would become an alive landscape... Keywords: portrait, stargazer, animals, stilllife, butterfly, fashion, flowers, forest, floral, jungle, lily, monkey
