Lacrimea Rerum means 'the tears of things' and is a quote from a Roman play, The Aeneid. it is connected to the futility of loss in war, but I have used it for loss of a loved one in general. The locket is empty so perhaps the woman has lost someone, or has not had the chance to love yet.
