About The Artwork

Life itself – La vida entera. That's what Frida Kahlo wrote in one of her love letters to Diego Rivera. "No es amor, ni ternura, ni cariño, es la vida entera, la mia, que encontré al verla en tus manos, en tu boca y en tus senos. Tengo en mi boca el sabor almendra de tus la bios. Nuestros mundos no han salido nunca fuera. Solo un monte conoce las entranas de otra monte." "It’s not love, or tenderness, or affection, it’s life itself, my life, that I found looking at your hands, your lips and your breasts. I have the taste of almonds from your lips in my mouth. Our worlds have never gone outside. Only one mountain can know the core of another mountain." Acrylic paint on canvas with screenprinted details from news paper articles, a blueprint and finally Frida herself. Shades of turquoise, white, off-white and traces of red. The painting is framed and ready to hang. Size of artwork (without frame) 33x41 cm.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Pia Lilenthal is a contemporary street mix-media artist. She combines stencil work with multiple layers and techniques in the backgrounds. It could be watercolor, acrylic paint, screen printing, collages of stamps. Or a mix of them all. Portraits are a common motif, often women, containing details connected to the person in the different layers. Her background as graphic designer and long experience of making sketches digitally, comes handy when planning compositions and different color combinations. The final artwork though, is always made by hand.
