Painting, Acrylic on Canvas

Ships in a Crate
This large painting was based on an add of Louis Vuitton back in december 2003. LV dumped Lopez because, as the SUN at that time wrote : "...after causing chaos on one of their photo shoots, where she walked away with thousands of dollars in free merchandise." Because of this incident I made JL look impersonal here and a little bit devilish.

Belgium
Luc Vervoort lives in the center of Antwerp, in Belgium. Vervoort has developed an interest in different formats of art, like painting, photography, interior design and books. The works of Luc Vervoort establish a link between photography and painting. The paintings are actually pictures that fade out when putting them to the canvas. His earlier works, the Models, are based on excerpts of existing fashion photography. From his parallel career in global cybersecurity technology business, Vervoort made a series of paintings illustrating how technology, and in particular the internet, is impacting society. Examples are 'People On The Move' and 'Fashion Wars'. Throughout his life Vervoort has been very active in photography, in particular street photography, architecture and portraits. The artists that inspire Vervoort are Popart icons like Lichtenstein, Warholl, and contemporary Belgian artists like Luc Tuymans and Michael Borremans. In photography his examples are Leibovitz, Corbijn, Maier, Newton. The large size canvas paintings are made in acryl, using colors that naturally blend well in loft-style places and relaxed chique interiors. The photographs are printed on top quality filmpaper protected by museum glass. Paintings are unique, photographs are made in small series of 5 to 10 copies, each numbered and signed.
