ISO - Sunsets over Urban Nature in Moore Park Painting

The Australian Outback has offered me a lot of inspiration, in particular the iconic character of the eucalyptus trees that are ubiquitous across the country, and the city. I hope the viewer get a sense of the moment in the evening when the sun is setting and all is flooded in a pinkish hue. In the face of the global pandemic from 2019 - 2021 we have, at times been restricted in our ability to travel out to rural zones, so my attention has shifted to "urban nature". I have been able to familiarise myself with the native trees, my favourite trees, and pockets of bush in the urban milieu. Noticing nature is revitalising. I hope the viewer is inspired by this work to notice the pink of the sunset a moment longer, notice the native trees close to home, to notice nature. and feel awe.
