About The Artwork
Into the Deep is about coolness, water, under the sea and what you might find there. I paint mainly on wood as it allows me to get into my painting more. I paint numerous layers and on all those layers I draw, scratch to reveal the layers underneath until I have enough history in my work, I then concentrate on the top layer and do the same again, but with more purpose. When I have completed the painting, i paint 3 layers of varnish and then polish with a cold wax which gives it a lovely patina. This painting is framed in a natural wood boxed frame.
