About The Artwork
Andrews started this work and series in 2007 and she has retouched and finished it in 2017. She felt that the painting was asking her for some things. Inspired in winter by ponds in the monastery gardens of "El Escorial". The canvas is stretched on a wooden frame and artwork is ready to hang. Framing is not required. The painting is signed by both sides and also with certificate of authenticity signed by the author.

Annabel Andrews was born in the Isle of Wight in 1940 now lives and works in El Escorial near Madrid Spain, where the colour, light and volumes of the mountains inspire her work. As also her friendship with the late Spanish artists Pablo Palazuelo and Jose Guerrero. By preparing her own canvases with home made casein glue base and zinc white the work is light and luminous ready for applying acrylic colours.
