About The Artwork

Mitch : What are you doing? Chris Knight : Self-realization. I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?” Darlington Recruiter : You *are* Chris Knight, aren't you? Chris Knight : I hope so. I'm wearing his underwear. Chris Knight : Sir, let me take this moment to compliment you on your fashion sense, particularly your slippers. Chris Knight : Do you mind if I name my first child after you? "Dipshit Knight" has a nice ring to it. Chris Knight : This? This is ice. This is what happens to water when it gets too cold. This? This is Kent. This is what happens to people when they get too sexually frustrated. Chris Knight : You didn't touch anything, did you? Mitch : No. Chris Knight : Good. Because all of my filth is arranged in alphabetical order. This, for instance, is under 'H' for "toy." Mitch : What is that? Chris Knight : It's a penis stretcher. Do you want to try it? Mitch : No! Chris Knight : I'm kidding. It's yet another in a long series of diversions in an attempt to avoid responsibility. Kent : You're all a bunch of degenerates. Chris Knight : *We* are? What about that time I found you naked with that bowl of Jell-O? Kent : You did not. Chris Knight : This is true. Kent : Look, it was hot and I was hungry, okay? 'Ick' Ikagami : Do you think it's getting weird around here? Chris Knight : Absolutely. Jordan : I didn't notice. Mitch : I like it. [Everybody Wants to Rule the World] Chris Knight : You see Mitch, I used to be you. And lately I've been missing me so I asked Dr. Hathaway if I could room with me again and he said sure. Mitch : You know, um, something strange happened to me this morning... Chris Knight : Was it a dream where you see yourself standing in sort of sun-god robes on a pyramid with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you? Mitch : No... Chris Knight : Why am I the only one who has that dream? from ‘Real Genius’ (1985) Starring Val Kilmer ("I am the greatest swordsman that ever lived."), Dean Devlin (Spawn’s Universal Soldier), Michelle Meyrink (The Outsiders), William Atherton ("Yes, it’s true... This man has no dick."), Beau Billingslea (Cowboy Bebop), Ed Lauter (Cap’s Not Another Teen Movie), Patti D’Arbanville (The Fan), Gabriel Jarret (The Karate Kid Part III), and Jon Gries (The X-Files: Sleepless). Written by Neal Israel (SURF NINJAS), Pat Proft (Hot Shots! Part Deux), and PJ Torokvei (Downey Jr.’s Back to School). Directed by Martha Coolidge (Joy of Sex). Real Genius is a 1985 American science fiction comedy film directed by Martha Coolidge, written by Neal Israel, Pat Proft, and Peter Torokvei, and starring Val Kilmer and Gabriel Jarret. The film is set on the campus of Pacific Tech, a science and engineering university similar to Caltech. Chris Knight (Kilmer) is a genius in his senior year working on a chemical laser. Mitch Taylor (Jarret) is a new student on campus who is paired up with Knight to work on the project. The film received positive reviews from critics, and it grossed $12 million at the North American box office. Source: Wikipedia

I’m (I am?) a self-taught artist, originally from the north suburbs of Chicago (also known as John Hughes' America). Born in 1984, I started painting in 2017 and began to take it somewhat seriously in 2019. I currently reside in rural Montana and live a secluded life with my three dogs - Pebbles (a.k.a. Jaws, Brandy, Fang), Bam Bam (a.k.a. Scrat, Dinki-Di, Trash Panda, Dug), and Mystique (a.k.a. Lady), and five cats - Burglekutt (a.k.a. Ghostmouse Makah), Vohnkar! (a.k.a. Storm Shadow, Grogu), Falkor (a.k.a. Moro, The Mummy's Kryptonite, Wendigo, BFC), Nibbler (a.k.a. Cobblepot), and Meegosh (a.k.a. Lenny). Part of the preface to the 'Complete Works of Emily Dickinson helps sum me up as a person and an artist: "The verses of Emily Dickinson belong emphatically to what Emerson long since called ‘the Poetry of the Portfolio,’ something produced absolutely without the thought of publication, and solely by way of expression of the writer's own mind. Such verse must inevitably forfeit whatever advantage lies in the discipline of public criticism and the enforced conformity to accepted ways. On the other hand, it may often gain something through the habit of freedom and unconventional utterance of daring thoughts. In the case of the present author, there was no choice in the matter; she must write thus, or not at all. A recluse by temperament and habit, literally spending years without settling her foot beyond the doorstep, and many more years during which her walks were strictly limited to her father's grounds, she habitually concealed her mind, like her person, from all but a few friends; and it was with great difficulty that she was persuaded to print during her lifetime, three or four poems. Yet she wrote verses in great abundance; and though brought curiosity indifferent to all conventional rules, had yet a rigorous literary standard of her own, and often altered a word many times to suit an ear which had its own tenacious fastidiousness." -Thomas Wentworth Higginson "Not bad... you say this is your first lesson?" "Yes, but my father was an *art collector*, so…"
