It's already a long time since these flowers have been picked, they droop their heads which are now too heavy for their stems. The colours are changing as moisture retreats - only one stem remains in the water. There is a delicateness to these drying flowers, a contrast to the volumptuous fresh-cut heads. I wanted to capture the flowers at this time, there is an upright visible which forms the window bay, giving the flowers a structrue, a crutch. They seem are part of the interior now. Jill Hudson BA (HONS) Fine Art A graduate of Falmouth College of Arts, I live and work in Cornwall. As an artist I am interested in depicting the beauty of the inconsequential moment - A shaft of light across the floor, a shadow through the trees in the evening. I want to capture the essence of an image which otherwise might be overlooked. My art is about the landscape of life in all its forms - its fleetingness, its poetry, its loneliness, and its reality. I have traveled in Africa and South America and gain great inspiration from exploring - I paint wherever I go. In 2005 I spent time working with Raleigh International as their Expedition Artist in Chile. On leaving the project I trekked to glaciers in southern Chile, and also spent time on Easter Island.
