Hot Wet Wonderful Beauty Painting

This collage/painting "Hot Wet Wonderful Beauty" is a part of a series titled "flowers of flesh and blood" and is one of many new beauty bouquets available. It was inspired by and is a modern take on the history of still life floral paintings and the symbolism they represent. The materials are spray paint, acrylic, oil pastel, paper and fabric cut outs on found discarded used and abused stretched canvas from the streets of NYC that I painted over with found blue house paint. Collage clippings include: a found NYC parking ticket clipping, a found lottery ticket dud clipping, two flowers colored in by my 95 year old grandfather, magazine/book clippings, neon pink felt, a drop of my blood, etc. *this canvas is sprayed and coated with non yellowing matte UV protectant varnish. All collage elements are glued with a flexible canvas/fabric glue which enables the canvas to be rolled, shipped, stretched/framed...
