About The Artwork
'HIT' is inspired by a series of broken conversations overheard on a train trip to London a few years ago. Distracted by the random chatter that day I decided to simply take note of them as I heard them. Silence is a rare commodity and this canvas shows the humour of these words when placed together and also highlights the abbreviated and contorted conversations found on social media. I paint these letter because in doing so I get to enjoy the simple and beautiful shapes and lines of each letter and then placed close together create a surface texture.
