When we were kids a cardboard box could make us smile. Everything was magical. Everything had wonder and curiosity, a glow that in a word, was happiness. Along the way we started adding qualifiers to happiness. The box wasn’t enough, it needed to be the latest brand name with shiny walls. But even that didn’t do it for us. We looked at the stars huntings for decades for aliens. Here at home we looked at things that used to make us happy as knock-off brands. A cheap thrill we could get a deal on and toss out. The ocean makes me happy, in a sad kind of way. I think about Grindadrap, an old tradition where we would kill hundreds of dolphins - probably the second smartest being on this planet for sport. This is the box we’ve built ourselves. Where wisdom and anger and happiness don’t play well together. This is a box that you and I can change. -“Look, See, Think” ƎF.
