About The Artwork
Created during the winter Covid-19 lockdown, in which the artist felt more and more frustrated, confused and angry about what she was being told by the politicians and the media about the state their country was in due to the pandemic. She was longing for truth, expressed by the golden triangle in the upper half of the work. The colours are vibrant and lively, the texture of the painting almost haptic in some parts due to the modelling paste. As all her works, this painting also consists of many different layers of paint. The work is sold without a frame and ready to hang. It's signed and dated on the side (bottom right) and on the back. The title is also on the back.

I am a Czech-born and now Germany based painter. In my works I explore the essence of what surrounds me: why do people act the way they do? What lies beneath the surface of what meets the eye? What are we driven by? To express what I sense beneath the surface I feel drawn to different materials and a range of colours, which I apply in different layers on my canvases and papers, using a variety of techniques including scratching, brushing and printing. This way expressive works are created, some reduced to basic expressions, others rich in colour and texture.
