About The Artwork
In 1996, I’ve graduated from Vilnius Academy of Arts in Painting. I have not painted in realistic style until 2014 and I was interested to try it. Objects have started to tell me their own stories. It is interesting to create an illusion of space while painting. When I paint I have never used phototographs, I only paint by using naturalistic point of view, because it helps me to create a realistic illusion of space, which is kind of flat in the photographs. I enjoy the state of objects when they appear as subjects. I only paint in daylight. The process is long (takes about 140 hours). Every piece of art has it‘s own mood, colours, shapes, which are unparalleled.
