About The Artwork
This work is a continuation of my present project as displayed on this website. It originated with sheet metal (aluminum) that was exposed to nature for long periods and etched by the forces of nature. I have since attempted to duplicate this effect on paper, canvas, and plywood, using metallic paints. In the process I have restrained as much as possible from composing the work intentionally but relied on spontaneity and accident. My effort to mimic nature and avoid contrivance. I leave it to the viewer to interpret the painting. I would also add that from a philosophical perspective I was influenced by the writings of Terry Pratchett.
