About The Artwork
Another portrait of a beautiful bunch of flowers my husband brought home one evening. Features Easter Lilies, Eucalyptus and other leaves, and little speckle flowers all clustered in a fat bottomed floral print majolica vase on white linen against a powdery blue wall. the colors in this piece are unusually chalky and pastel for me, but they do play quite nicely with one another and the textures are just beautiful. I used crayons to add texture and detail after completing the painting, so some of the leaves feature wee striped patterns. I love painting flowers I receive as gifts, they last so much longer this way.
