Flourish Painting

Originally from London, I moved to St Ives, Cornwall in 2010 . My preferred medium is oil and acrylic paint on canvas, and smaller scale gouache on paper. My paintings are created intuitively, without a clear idea of how the finished work will look. Ranging from minimal images to more complex 'landscapes' of paint that are built up slowly over time.The process is like creating a massive jigsaw puzzle, without a guiding image to work from. Inspiration is found in the visual world around me, taking colour combinations and shapes from anything and everywhere. I seek to create work that is uplifting or joyful.
