Femme Fatale #1 Painting

Created by building layers of acrylic paint, this work is both vibrant and highly textural. Pencil, grease pencil and acrylic inks are used in combination with acrylic paint to build and create depth. The work is painted on a wooden panel, built in my studio, and comes ready to hang. Like most of my work, this painting "painted itself," meaning that it evolved on the surface, and was not pre-planned. For me, painting is a process of discovery. I rarely set out with a pre-conceived idea for a piece, rather I prefer to explore various mark-making and compositions in an organic manner, allowing the painting to form itself spontaneously.
