About The Artwork
This is an embossed piece of printmaking paper with a deep violet colour filling the main embossed area. Following a similar style of composition to my paintings, this piece focuses less on the relationship and interaction between the shapes and more on the physical, tactile nature of them and the paper itself. I chose to use a single colour as I felt anything more would detract away from the main aspect of the piece, the embossed quality of it, and to maximise the effect light has on the piece. Everything in the creation process; drawing the composition, cutting it out as out the stencil and emoting it was all done by hand, making for a lengthy but carefully carried out process. The piece will come mounted in a white frame (pictures to be uploaded soon, upon its arrival to me)
