Egrets in the mahogany woods Painting

So i have been travelling back and forth between the Uk and Barbados for a number of years now ,what you notice and observe is always evolving.If you visit for the first time you would be in awe of the brilliance and clarity of the water ,the little wooden houses flung about amongst zesty tropical plants,stretched out coconut trees and pops of insanely bright and interesting flowers,Looking at this painting you probably would not associate it with the Caribbean and this is where i am at ,noticing what is not so easily seen, infact you could say its not really about the Caribbean at all but just a suitable collective of imagery to convey bigger ideas.Using several images to create this painting ,i was initially attracted to the juxtaposition of the modern white building nestled amongst ancient mahogany trees on an estate of an old plantation ruin and from there this painting has come into existance.I absolutly love my oil paints the application of which is so playful ,drips,watery,thick layer upon layer ,rubbed out, creating colour after colour and how they interact with one another,always my end game is to create beautiful thought provoking works reflective on the wonderment of life.
