Dream on Arkona. The painting, in a more fairy-tale, dream-like form, presents an unspecified situation on the island of Rügen (Rugia), where the Slavic tribe of Ranas once ruled. There was one of the most sacred temples for the Slavs, Arkona. It was conquered as the last place in the Polabia, the Ranas were the last people of the Slavic Polabia to resist the adoption of Christianity.
