About The Artwork
Diminuendo - Dyad 4 The twin indigo brushstroke notes of the two note Dyad dominate the canvas. The overlying marks echo and fade from a fulsome beginning, reverberating as the background texture changes in vertical bands. This is ‘painting by implication’, for both brushstroke elements are composed by an amalgamation of many. The background is dry pastel and dilute house paint, and the main motifs, indigo pigment in acrylic paste. The unseen top and bottom edges are fuller in tone, magenta and cyan respectively top and bottom, whilst the side edges are white.
