Desert Dusk combines earth tones of burnt oranges and browns, in contrast with the cooler color palette of a sky at dusk. Layers of washes in the background give the painting a watercolor-like foundation. Dots represent the fleeting, ever changing light of Dusk. The sky is exaggerated stylistically, to further illustrate the vast colors found at that time of day, and to perhaps give an other-worldly sense of wonder. Inspired by the Nevada Desert. Created in 2019 by Kristen Pobatschnig, acrylic on canvas 24"x36". Varnished, ready to hang with wire backing. 2" painted edges.

Combining layers of pointillism, impressionism and abstraction, I look to capture the expression of fleeting light and tranquility of mind and space. Light, water and movement are my favorite subjects. ____________________________________ Kristen Pobatschnig is an artist who emphasizes light and movement in a whirlwind of fleeting dots and forms.
