Painting is for Ella Joosten the ultimate synergy of both thinking and feeling: "My work does not appear in a vacuum. I cannot escape the constant flux of information. Amidst that information jungle, I am working quite solitary, and deliberately choose to be most selective. The essential part of my work is analyzing the few things I feel attracted to. This leads to series of paintings, in which I try to develop my artistic understanding of the interplay between form, composition and colour. My process of working is both emotional and conceptual, at the same time". First quality, highly pigmented acrylic paints, on 4 cm deep canvas. The sides are painted through, so that it can also be hung without a frame. The painting is ready to hang immediately. Note the multitude of details, the richness of colors, the nuances of sharpness and haze. At a certain point you will rehearse, whether it be layers of earth, or compressed boxes.
