Looking at color, form and movement while defying a confined space. My reference point for making this work was the French countryside at sunrise which is partly where the title comes from. However, the 2nd half of the title, derived from the 19th century poem by Arthur Rimbaud, refers to the sheer difficulty of creating this and the rest of my work. The process is difficult, expensive, time consuming and can at times be frustrating. That said, Daybreak also refers to coming out in the other side of such difficulties with a successful new painting.

Statement: PORTRAITS AND PLANTS: My work offers less about the detailed physicality of nature and instead captures the purest emotions bestowed upon the human condition by exposure to nature. The idea of life is given by stroke, passion by line, belief via color, and all displayed as offerings to our truest self. Bio: To Michigan artist Jon Parlangeli there is no other path but to constantly ask and then answer questions via different modalities within his medium. This leads to new explorative bodies of work offering differing styles, genres, or techniques that satiate his curiosity for the space between real and the abstract. Parlangeli uses both nature and figure as his muse often jostling between them to solve internal conundrums exposed during studio sessions. Standing over such processes is his artistic signature, color. Born partially color blind, Parlangeli uses color as his weapon of indelicacy often pushing beyond subtle yet achieving a cosmopolitan of sublime. Parlangeli is a seasoned painter who has placed works within corporate and private collections throughout the US, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. His works have been shown in the US and internationally.
