About The Artwork
This painting is part of a series about seagrass, we flow, the entire painting almost floats for me. All this before the heat of the day, our scene unfolds as the brook runs to the sea. Fronds, better yet blades of grass form fans or maybe wings, once again aloft. For me, the painting has a decorative asian landscape feel. As for The Dan Sing Fan, it was a tea house that overlooked Perkins Cove in summer's past- long ago. Its architecture was in Japanese pagoda style, magical in southern Maine. When I was a child, I went once for cinnamon toast- a real treat. The painting is light, dream driven and whimsical.
