This painting was inspired by a photograph on an Estate agents website, as the title refers , the swimming pool has been abandoned from its original intent ,the house empty and put up for rent.The house appeared to me as a symbol of possibility through a time of despair at having to move from our rental home yet again.I found the pool mesmerisingly beautiful with its reflections of the surrounding trees and the concrete painted walls.On painting it, the watery reflections became almost abstract, they seemed to reflect how impermanent and changing everything is.
