About The Artwork
This painting documents the crabapples that bloom each spring around Como Lake in St. Paul, MN. They were planted over a half century ago by a neighborhood group as a gift from Japan. They turn special shades of pink and rose as the light falls and they fill the spring air and contrast with the new green. This is a close study of a branch with all the blossoms of other trees in the background dusk.
