Core Values Painting

I love dusk. For years I lived in a remote country setting with a farm pond. In the evening I'd sit quietly by the pond watching the sky darkening and listening to the owls begin their nightly calls. This painting is based on the sights and feelings evoked. Cold wax medium allows for the build up of layers that allow for subtle blending and using reductive techniques to reveal earlier under layers. The edges of the painting are finished to reflect the central image. The painting is ready to hang. No framing is necessary. Painting the edges enhances the sense of depth. I'm hopeful views will also experience a sense of calm and peace, a momentary pause and pleasure.
