A portrait of my friend Matt Ambown reading from Barrel Fever by David Sedaris at the Tate Modern. This is one of a series of paintings, currently underway, for which I ask sitters to choose a favourite book, explain their choice to me, and than read a passage from it. My hypothesis is that through this process sitters will reveal something compelling of themselves.
