About The Artwork
This 14x20 deckled edge artwork is float mounted in a 18x24 black wood frame. Float mounting “floats” the artwork on a foam board lift, which is then mounted onto a mat backing. The height of the lift creates the floating effect by raising the artwork off the mat backing. 'Come out and play' is a phrase I remember hearing many times from my friends in the neighborhood on a bright sunny spring morning. This painting reflects what I feel when I think of those wonderful days.

I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1949. Lived most of my life in the San Francisco East Bay Area(Alamo/Danville). I moved to Southern California in 2001 and then Santa Barbara in 2018, I've been painting since 2010 when I discovered a Sam Francis painting at a gallery. It inspired me to try my hand at abstract painting. I was excited by the colors he used and the way he applied the acrylic paint.
