Vividly colourful triptych (set of three) oil paintings incised with pencil lines made directly onto Polaroids* in the ongoing City.Skies.London series by award-winning artist Sarah Kudirka. (This collection of three images is considered by the artist as a single artwork within the City Skies series). The title of this triptych refers to the orange and yellow tones in the images. When did you last look up at the sky? When promoting her entire City.Skies.London series, Sarah uses this question as a hook, as looking up at the sky squeezed in between city buildings is the primary focus of her images. Her point is that while we all spend too much time looking down at our phones or our feet in urban life, her job as an artist is to do precisely the opposite. *Sarah uses film that is equivalent to Polaroid stock made by the firm Impossible Project/HQ NB This artwork has been exquisitely framed (by Mark Darbyshire) under highest-conservation-standard museum-quality glass

Sarah Kudirka (nee Davenport) is an award-winning contemporary British artist who makes art about the shapes and edges of things: buildings, cities, objects and words. An artist producing striking and mature work, she brings both passion and playfulness to her work. Sarah's paintings are made by using oil paint and pencil applied directly over Polaroid shots that she has taken while walking through cities. The idea is simple: walk and look up at the sky in between the buildings. The resulting art is compelling. She reimagines the city streets and skyline in paint and pencil on Polaroid scale, never copying the photo obliterated beneath. Her series 'City Skies London' now numbers over 400 images and they are available both unframed and in exquisitely framed grids. Just a couple have been enlarged and are offered as limited edition prints. Sarah is now also working on series about Berlin, Glasgow, Hong Kong and Sydney. The artist is inspired by all sorts of stuff to do with material culture; street furniture; the built environment; urban landscape; design; language and architecture. Characteristically lo-tech and handmade in aesthetic, Sarah Kudirka's work is regarded as technically-innovative, accessible and beautiful.
