About The Artwork
'Chasing Cloud' was inspired by a wild and windy afternoon's walk in the countryside near my home. I was particularly struck by the beauty of the clouds and observed how they moved across the sky. In this painting I have attempted to express the speed with which they travelled overhead using quick gestural marks in loose watered paint over a gesso textured surface. Supplied unframed.

Born 1965,Northampton, UK. I am currently painting and drawing from my studio in an old shoe factory in my home town of Northampton. 1988 - I graduated with a BA (hons) in Fashion and Textiles with Business . My work experience as a textile designer includes London-based fashion and furnishing studios and the contemporary interiors company; Designers Guild. During my training as a textile designer, I developed my own style of painting, printing and drawing. Paint has always been my medium of choice. Oils are particularly preferential, as they enable me to create areas of surface texture or depth by layering and adding mediums for flow.
