About The Artwork
This oil painting was made on a linen canvas with the help of watercolors and sketches the artist had made in April 2015 in Cassis harbor. This popular tourist destination is located on the Mediterranean coast, about 20 kilometres (12.4 miles) east of Marseille. In this artwork the artist conveys the eery atmosphere created by the setting sun lighting the cliff, houses and boats. In the foreground some traditional fishing boats are moored. The castle, dating back to the 13th century overlooks the harbor. The middle of the painting is filled with the reflections of the sky, the houses alongside the harbor and the boats. This painting is framed with a box and ready to hang. Dimensions without the frame: 55x46 cm
