About The Artwork
The Californian winter and early spring was wet in 2017. One effect was that people were sneezing – a cab driver told me that there were plants flowering in the desert that hadn't done so for 10 years, and that the pollen was driving him crazy. Another effect was that the canyons appeared less parched and muted than usual – lush greens and purples, with only a hint of the dusty ochre that usually frames everything. Mounted in a grey timber tray frame.
