About The Artwork
This colourful diptych was inspired by the California Coast. The slightly abstracted scene melds the ocean, sky and land into an almost dreamscape. Strong bands of colour dance like the ocean and pull your eye to the faraway horizon. This large scale piece will fill an entire wall with colour. With my painting, I aim to bring viewers back to memories of places they cherish. I attempt to bring the entirety of the landscape into the artwork to pull the viewer right in; mixing their memories with the scene in front of them. I utilize a larger scale and slight abstraction to allow the viewer to be immersed in the scene and to fill in the missing details from their own experiences. This diptych (two piece painting) is professionally wired and ready to be hung or framed to suit your interior. The sides are painted in a co-ordinating shade of light blue. The canvas is varnished with a matte finish.
