BODHISATTVA exhibition at Oporto, Portugal Painting

To end in glory the synthesis of all the work carried out in 2017, 2018 inaugurates in OPorto an exhibition with the theme Bodhisattva. Bodhisattva of Shantideva, a way of life. Shantideva was one of the most beloved monks of Indian Buddhism in Sec. 8, and the poems of Bodhisattva the essential literary source for all Buddhists, in search of humility, altruism and compassion. I discovered the poems of Bodhisattva in one of the many videos that accompany me while I paint. Alternate between music, usually classical, and lectures, and both are primordial in the daily construction of the way I communicate what I mean by painting. Carmen Herrera says in her 100 years as a still active painter that if the painter wanted to speak, she would write, and I agree. There are things that do not need words, they are only translatable through the forms that in an extension of the heart to the hand are inscribed, in the screen often of way oblivious to what the painter initially would wish. The Bodhisattva poems, I heard them translated by the nun Pemma Chodrom, and I can say that they have made me a better, quieter human being, but still far from reaching it, that tranquility. Every day I would enter the atelier during the execution of these works and I would heard a lecture of 2 hours from the beginning, and every day, I would hear it repeated without ever being the same. As we are not perfect human beings, we find ourselves ... I was realizing that as I worked to the sound of Shantideva, the colors changed and the forms somehow brought me closer to that lightness of living that I am still far from achieving .
