About The Artwork
Andres Koort often works with large-scale canvases. He has developed a painting technique that gives the impression of a hazy natural surfaces depicting longing with distance from the actual colours and shapes, delicate movement, making the viewer more receptive to self- reflection. He explores the energy around us and its transformation through largely non- figurative work. Koort’s colour palette is Nordic and his paintings depicted is a manner that could be described as rust-sadness or wabi-sabi in Japanese aesthetics. It deals with the beauty of impermanence and imperfection, the peace of mind in natural simplicity.
