This painting developed in two sages. The first layer was painted in acrylic, with a second layer of oil paint added later. The theme of the painting is the massive flooding in 2021 of the port city of Biera in Mozambique. Here the portrait being is used as a vehicle to express a sense of the drama of the event which engulfed the lives of the population of Biera.
