About The Artwork

Rather than falling off in autumn like most leaves do, the beech tree holds onto its leaves until springtime, leaving a bit of fall color throughout winter. I've always liked this contrast of the sienna-colored leaves with the snow. This measures 24" high by 32" wide on a wood panel. It has a simple wood lattice frame and is wired and ready to hang. Please look at the images carefully. This is painted very loosely with quick brushstrokes in a painterly manner. About the artist: Stephen Remick was born and raised in Vermont. He resides in a coastal, New England town with his wife, Anne Carrozza Remick, who is also an artist on saatchiart.com. Steve's paintings are in private collections all over the U.S. and abroad.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I'm painting my back yard and the world beyond. Familiar, everyday sights that may only get a peripheral, passing glimpse. In-the-moment scenes… a yard sale, a backyard tree house, or a new house foundation under construction and filled with potential. Signs of prior lives… a centuries old, crumbling foundation who's long gone owner held that same potential as today’s builder, a cemetery reclaimed by the woods. Trying to guide the viewer to think in a deeper way, to realize our connection to each other, our environment, our past, and our future. Also re-connecting with an abstract, color-field series from the early 2000's, with inspiration drawn from land and sky and the abstract expressionist movement. In between all that, plein air painting when I can. Nothing beats painting from life. Born and raised in Vermont, currently living in Massachusetts.
