Throughout history, most tribes and original native humans of the earth have kept the connection with their ancestors through the spirit that dwells in them. Some of the tribes, like the Dogan have described their ancestors location in the outer planets and stars and have for centuries performed rituals in connection of the first landing of their ancestors; and only just in our time have scientists proved the existence of those planets and stars. Many other stories and spiritual substance through visible performance are also perceived in the voodoo tradition where the gods are dancing publically for their followers. Spirituality, unlike religion, which is imposed on a population, is passed through initiation, permitting every tribe to remain with their own practices and the knowledge of their ancestors. This is the case of the Bamileke mask, this oil painting is 180 by 205 cm long. It is a long tradition which has survived multiple invasions, slavery, democracy and colonisation for thousands of years, from the time of Egypt where they derived from. They have been passing the wealth, the chiefary and the knowledge to the next generation through ceremonial practices of burial and removing the head of the dead by choosing the heir who will keep the head by feeding it constantly in a specific location through rituals and ceremony; which in return provides guidance, wealth, protection and spiritual advice for the living. Through traditional dance with spears, masks, horns and many other spiritual tools, portraying the spiritual power of individuals in connection with the atmosphere to maintain harmony, they have kept those secret magic from the age to date.

I am a Cameroonian painter and sculptor based in London My portfolio of over 500 works consists of a variety of contemporary art, in almost every style: abstract, surrealism, cubism, portrait, landscape, sculptures, art installations, crafts and jewellery. I aim to show in my work the value and the privilege to be alive. I believe everything created has its own purpose, like the earth we live in – there is no other place where humans can share the same breath with animals and plants or drink the same water. The diversification of my art enables me to reach out to people’s minds and engage them in better understanding about the world we live in. Much of my work draws on the environmental transformations that are happening in the world and the effect that these changes have on mankind and nature. The vibrant aspect and diversity of each painting brings alive the subject to the viewer. Many people, from young to old, have been captured and amazed by both the content and energy of my paintings in past exhibitions.
