About The Artwork
The Australian Outback has offered me a lot of inspiration, in particular the sensuous limbs of the ghost gums. On a recent road trip 16 hours drive west of the capital city, wide spaces and intensity of the mid summer sunlight struck me powerfully. I hope the viewer gets a sense of the rugged environment, but also of the poetry of the outback, and the vigor, the liveliness of the big outdoors. Henry Lawson was a poet, hardened, but lyrical, like the land.
