About The Artwork
The Australian Outback has offered me a lot of inspiration, in particular the sensuous limbs of the ghost gums. On a recent road trip 16 hours drive west of the capitial city, wide spaces and intensity of the mid summer sunlight struck me powerfully, unexpected colours in the sunlight, pinks and blacks in the dirt, fill me with a sense of the poetry of the bush, Banjo Patterson for one. These are iconic poems and scenes, i hope they will imbue the viewer with memories of summer holidays, idyllic childhood storytelling and the wonder of the outdoors.
