Today, the village of Teriberka is one of the main attractions of the Murmansk region, this place is visited by all foreigners who visit the Kola Peninsula. This place is located in the fjord of the Barents sea where the stingy and harsh Northern nature surprises us with its unusual beauty. I happened to be there in the summer of 2019, and my impressions prompted me to think about this place in a special way. I found old photos of Teriberka, photos that are about 100 years old and tried to portray this settlement so that it carries the spirit of the happy past in which this place was in the early 20th century. In the past, it was a large encampment where about 200 families lived, fishing flourished there and the Bay was full of boats and ships. Unfortunately, now this place is hard to call the same. The picture has a non-standard form, the protrusion in the picture and what is depicted in it suggest thoughts about the main thing, about what United people at all times and encouraged them to live, to work, to love.

My landscapes shows northern nature as severe, primeval and pure one. Urban motif attracts me with scenery and old secular architecture. Marine landscapes express my romantic vision of the past. All my pictures are united by distance from contemporaneity and urbanism. My favorite materials are oil and canvas. I alternate and combine a liquid, fluid manner of writing with a thick, corpus painting. I prefer natural and noble shades to bright and simple colors. Etudes from life, sketches, photographs, studying the works of artists from different eras are the material that builds my paintings. I invent a new world, expressing in landscapes those states and emotions that I feel the need. I often make sketches for paintings in digital format from pieces of my previous works, transforming them into a new idea. This nonstandard method expands my possibilities for experimenting with form, light, color, and space. I create my art for those who needs quiet, peace and privacy in the surrounding reality. In my works I strive to impart the primordial nature of the surrounding world that we have lost, restore the harmony of relations between man and nature, and multiply the beauty of the world created by God. Painting a picture for me is the same as telling a story. Art is a language, nature is a metaphor. A picture is an expression about something you cannot keep silence. And if the expression is sincere it will become accordant to somebody else, cause admiration and rather no indifference. The finished work obtains its sense of self, its purpose, and its destiny. Beauty, aesthetics, meaning – these are things that I try to achieve from each work before it leaves me.
