The plot of the picture is about the Arcadian shepherds. This work was inspired by a painting by Poussin. The deceased, as it were, addresses the living - our life is fleeting, we are all perishable. And even in such a heavenly place as Arcadia, death awaits all of us. On the table is a book with a picture of Botticelli's Spring, but it can only be seen from a certain angle.
