About The Artwork
The “Tree Spirits” series is a project I started in 2004, at an Artist-in-residence program in the Tyrolean Alps in Austria. Refined in 2006 at the AIR program at Arthur Boyd's Bundanon, I continue to paint little close ups of tree bark, now and forwever inspired by the always beautiful Eucalyptus trees. Recently, and as a result of two commissions over the past years that requested a larger scale, I have zoomed out to paint bigger versions of the Tree spirits paintings, and “Arbor 3” is the third work in an ongoing series I am developing.
