About The Artwork
While painting Anticipation with spring reminder 3, I came up with the idea of painting the wood anemones again on a whole canvas. I mounted another canvas over this canvas and painted it with autumn leaves. This folds down through 3 incisions in the upper canvas and reveals the memory of the slumbering spring under the autumn leaves. If I turn the work 180 degrees, the autumn leaves cover the wood anemones. To contemplate the joyful memories of spring, the front wall can be lifted and you can see the wood anemones.
