An odd pair Painting

For me this artwork symbolises the enveloping and supportive nature of strong female friendships. Inspired by all of the extraordinary, kind and strong women in my life as well as my husband who have supported me and make me feel enveloped and warm in the blanket of their friendship. The pears in the painting are an odd couple, each beautiful and individual, supporting each other in pearfect balance. Evoking the concept of these treasured relationships in our lives, this is a small perfect piece that shines like a fresh little jewel on the wall. Capturing this symbol of wealth in a style reminiscent of an old Dutch master, is a reminder to the viewer of what is most valuable in life in our complex modern world full of less important treasures, and also harks back to my own Dutch heritage.
